What is a webinar and how it works?
A webinar is an event held virtually by an organization/company to a select group of individuals via the Internet. It is a method of one-to-many communication where the speaker or moderator presents to a group of online viewers from a single location. A webinar is also referred to as an online event, web seminar, web event, web lecture and virtual event.
During a webinar, a speaker hosting the event can share PowerPoint presentations, web pages, pictures or videos with audiences that can be located anywhere. People can attend webinars via a PC, tablet or smartphone and see or hear the speakers because of the video and audio feeds. Webinars can be live video lectures or conferences and allows the host to interact with the participants. Participants can ask the presenter questions in real time by using smart tools that offer various interactive opportunities such as:
During webinars, attendees can hear or see the speakers however they will not be able to hear or see other attendees. From an educational standpoint, webinars are more interesting due to the high degree of interaction, enabling participants to learn and understand quickly.
