Head of Engagement Systems: Job description

Permanent* / full time

*offered on a 12 month contract basis initially, with possibility of extension / move to permanent contract.
Location: The successful candidate may be based in a country where one of the independent National/Regional Greenpeace organisations (NRO’s) is located. See the locations here.

We are unable to support hosting in the US or the UK at this time, in addition to some other NRO locations. Greenpeace International is looking for a Head of Engagement Systems, a senior management role within our global technology management team.Greenpeace is a financially independent, supporter led organization that engages over 100 million people each year to support our campaign, fundraising and mobilization objectives. Head of Engagement systems is the leader responsible for the technology underpinning this critical area of work that is central to our mission.

With significant budget and line management responsibility, Head of Engagement Systems oversees product teams, community managers, technical specialists and leads important stakeholder work with our national and regional office executive teams.

As Head of Engagement System, your teams are responsible for different products and platforms including CRM, digital marketing, web, volunteer engagement and open campaigning.

Job requirements

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for an individual who be the global leader our organization in understanding how engagement and engagement systems contribute to supporter engagement across campaign, fundraising, volunteer and mobilization programmes.
Remember no one has every skill or experience needed for this role and you’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot from the team.

We believe someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role:

  • Significant experience (5+ years) in technology leadership or digital strategy for a non-profit, campaigning or customer centric organization
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges of nonprofits
  • A track record of delivering technology projects across multiple technology domains
  • Experience in management including line management, budget management, project management and leadership of managers.
  • Conceptual understanding of CRM, marketing, digital marketing systems and applying these technology to meet business objectives
  • Project management, including portfolio project management, governance and other methodologies
  • Executive stakeholder management including negotiation, communication and influencing
  • Effective communicator with ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment
  • Support for and belief in the core aims and values of Greenpeace.
