The application period for the 2022-23 The UN Young Professionals Programme (YPP) exams is now open. Applications will be accepted through 31 December 2022.


The UN Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is a recruitment initiative for talented, highly qualified professionals to start a career as an international civil servant with the UN Secretariat.It consists of an entrance examination process and professional development once those successful start their career with the United Nations.The UN Young Professionals Programme examination is held once a year in different subject areas, depending on the needs of the UN.

The UN Young Professionals Programme (YPP) is open to nationals of participating countries. The list of participating countries varies from year to year.The job openings can be found on the UN Careers Portal and in Inspira.

Remember to watch the application guidance video to learn more about the process. And a quick reminder that candidates are allowed to submit an application for only one YPP job opening. Submissions to multiple YPP exams will result in an automatic disqualification.

For UN staff members: please note that the job openings for internal YPP applicants are only accessible through inspira, via “G to P” or “G to N” job openings, and are not available on the Careers Portal.
