Student Energy Career Training Program (SECT)

Applications to join the third cohort of the SE Career Training program (SECT) are now open!

The SE Career Training program is a 4-month cohort-based program aimed at young people between 18 and 30 who are interested in pursuing a career that advances the energy transition. The program equips youth with the technical, dynamic, and durable skills necessary for them to land an internship or entry-level role in the energy sector. The Career Training program develops project management, data analytics, interdisciplinary teamwork, and leadership through hands-on learning experiences.

SECT is dedicated to providing students and young professionals their first opportunity to execute a real-world energy project and develop skills in energy policy and market analysis. This four-month cohort-based intensive program aims to fill the emerging gap between a large contingent of youth seeking to perform innovative work and transform our energy system but lack access to necessary baseline training and skills required for entry-level roles and internships.

The course has been collaboratively developed and run by knowledge partner Enel Foundation to offer students a comprehensive introduction to the current energy system, decarbonization pathways, energy economics and policy.

Student Energy is opening applications for the third cohort of the program, which will start on the 13th of March and end on the 30th of June, 2023. (Dates are tentative)
Candidates accepted into the SE Career Training program will be committing to a maximum of 10 hours per week over the 16 weeks period of the program.
