The New African Union Jobs include the following roles:
Bilingual Secretary (ACHPR)
The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) is looking for a Bilingual Secretary to support the Secretariat. Responsibilities include providing executive and protocol assistant services, organizing formal missions and meetings, as well as maintaining communications with stakeholders around the world. Applicants must be fluent in English and at least one other official language of the AU; French is preferred.
Senior Policy Officer – Political & Legal Matters (AUABC)
The African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC) is looking for an experienced Senior Policy Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of public policy, law and the policies and regulations of the AU, as well as a good understanding of public sector management.
The Senior Policy Officer will be required to provide political and legal support for AUABC’s activities by researching worldwide trends in legislative reforms relevant to tackling corruption. They will also provide strategic advice and guidance to national authorities regarding enhancing anti-corruption legislation and other such matters.
Training & Capacity Building Expert
The AUABC is also recruiting an experienced Training & Capacity Building Expert to join their team. Working closely with the Senior Policy Officer, they will provide specialized advisory services to countries in Africa on anti-corruption through capacity building and training activities. These activities will focus on promoting the prevention of corruption and support enforcement of anti-corruption laws and policies. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of public policy, law and the policies and regulations of the African Union, as well as experience in providing international technical assistance related to capacity building or training.
The AUABC is looking for an experienced Project Coordinator to join their team and manage debt management projects. The successful candidate will need to have significant project management experience in both the public and private sector, as well as a good understanding of debt management processes. Working closely with the Senior Policy Officer, they will coordinate resources and activities related to debt management at the country level, such as developing sustainable strategies, negotiating with creditors and overseeing financial restructuring processes.
Administrative Assistant (AUSC)
The AUSC is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join the team and assist with administrative tasks. The individual will need to be organized and highly detail-oriented, able to maintain records, track progress and compile reports. Furthermore, they will provide logistical support in areas such as event planning and coordinating meetings across multiple countries. The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills in order to interact with different departments, stakeholders and external partners.
