The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship programme offers scholarships worth up to £10,000 – to study a full-time masters programme in Wales. The Global Wales Postgraduate scholarships are available to students from Vietnam, India, USA, Canada and countries of the European Union. This prestigious scheme is the first scholarship of its kind in Wales and is offered by the Global Wales Programme – a partnership between the Welsh Government, Universities Wales, The British Council and HEFCW, and is funded by Taith.

All universities in Wales offer the Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship, and you need to have already applied for a place to study an eligible postgraduate programme before you submit your scholarship application.

You can now make up to three applications to different Welsh universities, providing you have applied for all the courses and universities that you are seeking a scholarship for.

Applications for the Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship 2023 are now open, and will close on the 31st May 2023.

The Global Wales Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is funded by Global Wales and offered in partnership with all universities in Wales. The scholarship programme offers each worth up to £10,000, towards the annual international tuition fees of successful applicants.

Award

Scholarships will be given in the form of a tuition fee discount and are non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered.

If the amount of scholarship awarded is more than the cost of the tuition fees, the tuition fees will be covered in full and any remainder will not be issued.

Universities Wales reserves the right to update or amend scholarship awards without notice, based on the availability and quality of applications that are received.

1. HOW DO I APPLY?
You should complete the application form.

2. DO I NEED TO APPLY TO A WELSH UNIVERSITY BEFOREHAND?

Yes, you will need to have submitted an application to study to your university before your scholarship application can be considered.

You will need to include your University application number with your scholarship application. Applications submitted with invalid application numbers will not be considered.

There is a limit of a maximum of three applications per student, and students will need to have applied for all the courses and universities that they are seeking a scholarship for.

3. WHAT LEVEL OF STUDY ARE THE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE FOR?
Scholarships are available for one year of a postgraduate Masters course

How to apply

All sections of the online application form must be completed and submitted by the relevant deadline. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

By agreeing to these terms and conditions you state the information provided in the application is true to the best of your knowledge.

If you receive an offer of a scholarship, you will be asked to review and sign a scholarship contract. Failure to return this documentation by the deadline set will result in the University offering the scholarship to someone else.
