Financial Controller
SEI is currently looking for a Financial Controller to join SEI HQ in Stockholm, where you will be an integral part in creating a sustainable future for all. SEI is a dynamic and expanding workplace that employs around 130 people in Sweden and an additional 200 employees in seven centres around the world. This is a temporary contract, starting mid August 2024 until August 2025.

Financial Controller Tasks and responsibilities
The focus of the Financial Controller role will be on setting targets for improvements of the project financial planning and monitoring procedures and working with the controlling team in realizing these targets. The Financial Controller will be working closely with the project managers on proposal development and budgets as well as financial monitoring, reporting and audits. The role entails design of appropriate systems for financial monitoring relevant for the specific projects.
You will be part of a team of 10 people and will be reporting directly to SEI’s Financial Director. The Financial Controller position is an international headquarter role that requires frequent conversations with the other SEI centres in English. Dialogue with funders and partners is in both Swedish and English.
Some of the Financial Controller main responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and approving project budgets
- Developing and managing project financial monitoring systems
- Overseeing and compiling project financial reports to funders
- Preparing project financial audits
- Working on budgets and forecasts together with the Team Leads
Requirements
SEI is looking for a candidate with at least three years of relevant experience from working with financial budgeting and reporting, preferably with an academic degree in finance. You possess excellent analytical skills and can structure and organize your work well.
As this role requires collaboration with key project stakeholders, SEI is looking for a candidate with strong interpersonal and communication skills that enjoys working in an international environment.
You will need to master MS Excel and have an interest and experience in managing systems for financial monitoring. You are fluent in Swedish and English.
Required skills and experience
- Academic degree in finance or other relevant field
- Minimum of three years of experience in financial controlling
- Fluent in English and Swedish
- Advanced user of MS Excel
- Experience of working with ERP systems
- Experience from Business Intelligence Systems such as Power-BI
