Purpose of consultancy

The Training Specialist will provide technical expertise to the Supply chain training Landscape analysis and learning pathway development.

Background  

The objective of the Operation Supports and Logistic team (OSL) is to provide support to the response to emergency but also to develop tool and guidance to strengthen our supply chain and increase efficiency of WHO field team.  The learning and development has been highlighted by OSL unit as a priority area for the biennium 2024-2025, it would include the production of a learning agenda, the development of partnership and the facilitation of training.

Deliverables

  • Conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis of existing initiatives, programs, and training modules related to logistics and supply chain management in various organizations, including NGOs, United Nations agencies, and accredited training centers.
  • Identify and evaluate the relevance, effectiveness, strengths, and weaknesses of the existing initiatives.
  • Develop a structured training pathway based on the findings of the landscape analysis, aimed at addressing identified gaps and meeting the needs of the target audience.
  • Outline the costs associated with implementing the proposed training pathway.
  • Profile the target participants for the proposed training pathway, including their backgrounds, skill levels, and specific needs. 
    Expected by: 40% mid August, 40 % mid September and 20% end September

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages

Educational Qualifications:

Essential:

  • An advanced university degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, science, economics, administration, or related area.

Desirable:

  • Additional professional training/specialization in learning and development.

Experience:  

Essential:

  • At least seven years’ practical experience in supply chain management of medical commodities on humanitarian organization at country and headquarter level.
  • Proven successful experience in training development.

Desirable:

  •  Experience with WHO.

Skills: 

Essential:

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications,  

Languages required:

Essential:  

  • Expert knowledge of English.

Desirable: 

  • Intermediate knowledge of French.

Location 

Off site: Home-based Consultant

Travel 

The Training Specialist is expected to travel.  

Remuneration and budget (travel costs are excluded):

Remuneration:

Band level B – USD 7,000 – 9,980 per month.

Expected duration of contract: 

2.5 months with possibility of extension.
