The World Bank Junior Professional Associates Program is an excellent opportunity for you to hone your skills, expand your knowledge, and support forward-looking solutions.

The World Bank Group is at the very forefront of development. The experience you will gain as a JPA will serve as a cornerstone for your future career – at the World Bank Group, another international organization, government, private sector, or anywhere.

Your Profile

The ideal JPA will have strong analytical and research capabilities in one or more of the following areas: Economics, finance, human development (public health, education, nutrition, and/or population studies), social sciences (anthropology, sociology), agriculture, environmental studies (climate change, blue economy), infrastructure, private sector development, or in corporate and administrative functions, such as information technology, legal, accounting, communications, corporate procurement, and human resources.

What World Bank Offers

In addition to the unique opportunity to expand your knowledge, build your network, and contribute solutions to global challenges at the world’s premier development institution, you will receive a comprehensive rewards package that includes annual and parental leave, medical and life insurance, worker’s compensation, and other benefits.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the JPA program, you must:

  • Be 32 years of age or younger
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree
  • Be fluent in English

The JPA program is highly competitive. Candidates who are being actively considered for positions may be required to present academic transcripts and professional references. The Human Resources team will carefully evaluate applications and reach out to individuals selected for the interview process.

Opportunities are available at World Bank Group headquarters in Washington, DC and across its offices around the world.

It is important to note that a JPA assignment does not guarantee continued employment at the World Bank Group. Following completion of the three-year JPA contract, candidates may apply for competitive term employment assignments with no cooling-off period.
