Call for Proposal: Research and Project Management Assistant for the GSR 2025

REN21 is looking for a Consultant to act as a Research and Project Management Assistant who will work in close consultation with its Research and Data team to contribute on the production of the Renewables 2025 Global Status Report (GSR 2025). This is an exciting opportunity to support REN21 team on research and project management. The consultant to act as a research assistant for the Renewables 2025 Global Status Report Collection will work in close consultation with the REN21 Knowledge and Data Team (KDT).

Scope and Background of the Assignment

First released in 2005, REN21’s Renewables Global Status Report (GSR) provides a comprehensive a
timely overview of the renewable energy market, industry, investment and policy developments
worldwide. It enables policymakers, industry, investors and civil society to make informed decisions.
The Renewables Global Status Report relies on up-to-date renewable energy data provided by an
international network of hundreds of contributors, researchers and authors. It is the most-referenced
document on renewables worldwide.

REN21 is looking a consultant to support the REN21 Secretariat in research and project management
for REN21’s work on the Renewables 2025 Global Status Report, as well as other tasks within the
REN21 Secretariat. The contractor(s) will work in close consultation with the REN21 Knowledge and
Data Team October 2024 and July 2025, with the option of a part-time commitment for the ideal
candidate. The contractor will be expected to work between 60-90 days over that period. Depending
on performance, this contract can be extended.

Qualification Requirements of Contractor

  • Proven track record of knowledge about the renewable energy sector.
  • Capacity to conduct high quality research, analysis and referencing.
  • Knowledge and experience in database management. Knowledge and experience in programming
    languages is a plus.
  • Ability to write coherently following REN21 style.
  • Related work experience.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Openness to the collaborative nature of the project.

Proposal Requirements

The submission should include:

  • A detailed resume of the candidate, highlighting related work experience
  • The candidate’s specific interest in the project
  • A writing sample that illustrates the contractor’s knowledge of the renewable energy field
  • Indication of time availability between early October 2024 and end of July 2025.
