The training sessions will be held in person from the 7th to the 11th of April 2025.

This edition will focus on Micro-Grid Academy – Module 1: Decentralized Energy Systems (DRE) and aims to provide students with a comprehensive overview of a wide set of technical topics (i.e.: solar energy radiation, resource characterization for DRE design, mini-grid technological architecture, load profile exercises, community energy needs assessment and impact evaluation, case studies, business and entrepreneurial skills, etc.). The target beneficiaries will comprise 25 participants, among students, technicians, operators, managers, entrepreneurs and other RE professionals from all African States. The course will be held physically at Strathmore Energy Research Centre (SERC) in Nairobi, Kenya, with possible field visits and additional practical training at other partners’ facilities also in Nairobi. Additionally, in-person classes will be complemented by online sessions led by international experts.

Upon successful completion of the 37th Edition of the RES4Africa Academy Technical and Vocational School training, a certificate of attendance will be granted to the trainees who have attended at least 70% of the total amount of training hours, and successfully completed the final exam and survey.
