Overview
Are you ready to dive into cutting-edge political science research in a vibrant academic community? Ghent University is hiring a full-time PhD fellow to join the GASPAR research group for the 4-year project: “Do voters use socio-demographic cues to estimate politicians’ ideological positions?”
Research Focus:
The Doctoral Fellow in Political Science will explore how gender, age, and ethnicity shape ideological perceptions of politicians. You’ll use experimental methods and statistical analysis to test and build theory — contributing to democratic insights with real-world impact!

Prof. Dr. Bram Wauters & Dr. Robin Devroe
Your Profile
- Master’s in Political Science, Sociology, Public Admin, Political Psychology, or related
- Critical thinker with scientific curiosity
- Keen to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiar with or ready to learn experiments & stats
- Fluent in English (and Dutch or willing to learn)
