IUCN Water and Wetlands bring together its extensive network of IUCN Members, experts, government and private sector partners to develop sustainable solutions to preserve its water resources. IUCN Water and Wetlands knowledge is mainly based around the central theme of Implementing Sustainable River Basin Management and other factors
Role Overview
Are you interested in Transboundary Water Cooperation? Would you like to work on climate resilient and sustainable transboundary water management in Eastern Africa?
CREATES Programme will start implementation in January 2026 and IUCN Water and Wetlands is looking for a number of key positions for the Programme Management Unit including:
- A Project Team Leader (based in Nairobi, Kenya)
- A Basin Coordinator (based in Musuma, Tanzania)
- A Basin Coordinator (based in Kakamega, Kenya)
- A Gender, Environmental and Social Safeguards Specialist (based in Kenya)
The project will be implemented together with UNEP-DHI and implementing partners in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Recruitment for these positions is subject to final donor approval. The appointment will only be confirmed once funding has been officially secured.)
