Call for Application: Join the Amujae Initiative for African women to excel in high‐level public leadership roles
Overview
The Amujae Initiative is the flagship program of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center). It aims to inspire and prepare African women to unapologetically take on and excel in high‐level public leadership roles. The program aims to increase women’s meaningful representation in public leadership by enhancing their skills, strengthening networks, and shaping public perception of women leaders.
The Amujae Initiative is more than a program; it’s a movement. Launched by the EJS Center in March 2020, its mission is clear: to inspire and equip Africa’s most talented women to rise unapologetically to the highest levels of public leadership and to bring others along with them.
Applications now open!
Every year, EJS Center select up to 15 extraordinary African women who are already making waves in politics and public service.
Through EJS Center transformative leadership development experiences, EJS Center fuel their ambition, sharpen their skills, and connect them with a network that spans generations. These women become part of a powerful sisterhood—a community of trailblazers united by a common purpose: to lead, to serve, and to pave the way for those who will follow.
Why join the Sisterhood?
When you become an Amujae Leader, you don’t just gain access to world-class mentorship—you gain allies for life. Amujae Leaders mentors include former Heads of State, international leaders, and top-tier experts who have walked the path before you. This is the only program in the world where African women leaders receive direct guidance from former female heads of state. Together, building a multi generational network that empowers, supports, and elevates women in public leadership.
