Call for Local Stakeholder Consultation Design participation
ecoWise by Vectar plans to implement Voluntary Project Activities in Nigeria under Gold Standard carbon certification framework. The project aims to promote access to clean and reliable solar energy solutions, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support sustainable development within local communities.
This stakeholder meeting is scheduled to hold in Abuja and Kano.
Community leaders, solar developers, business owners, women’s groups, NGOs, government officials, researchers, and individuals are invited to attend and share their views. Vectar wants to hear from you
Overview
Vectar Energy Limited invites all stakeholders to participate in the PoA level design local stakeholder consultation for the ecoWise Distributed Solar Carbon Programme of Activities, being developed in Nigeria in accordance with the Gold Standard for the Global Goals requirements. Vectar Energy Limited welcomes your comments and views on the programme design, as your input will directly inform how the programme is structured and operationalised.
This is an important opportunity for Nigeria-based NGOs working in energy, environment and women’s rights to participate in the design consultation for the ecoWise Distributed Solar Carbon Voluntary Programme of Activities (VPA). The programme aims to expand distributed solar solutions across commercial, industrial, mini-grid and household sectors in Nigeria, reducing green house gas emissions and contributing to multiple SDGs. under the PoA, eligible solar installations will generate verifiable emission reductions through a digital MRV platform, later certified by an accredited body.
As part of the Gold Standard requirements, Vector Energy is conducting a local stakeholder consultation to gather feedback from key groups, including NGOs, community representatives, solar developers, policymakers and women-focused organisations. Two hybrid consultation events will be held:

About ecoWise
Vectar Energy Limited is the Coordinating and Managing Entity for the ecoWise programme. ecoWise is a carbon market infrastructure platform that aggregates distributed solar energy projects across Nigeria to generate high integrity carbon credits. Through its digital Measurement, Reporting and Verification system, ecoWise reduces the cost and complexity of carbon verification, enabling solar developers to access carbon finance and expand clean energy deployment for homes, businesses, and communities across Nigeria.
Purpose of This Consultation
Gold Standard requires the Coordinating and Managing Entity to consult with relevant stakeholders before submitting the programme for review. You have been identified as a stakeholder given your role in Nigeria’s energy, environment, or development sector.
Stakeholder groups invited to participate include:
- Solar developers and project implementers
- Mini grid and off grid operators
- Commercial and Industrial solar providers
- Government agencies, regulators, and local and national policymakers
- Climate finance organisations and research institutions
- NGOs, civil society representatives, and women’s groups
- Local community representatives and members of the public directly or indirectly affected by or interested in the programme.
