Youth Climate Changemakers Fund for Informal Groups
Funding Fairer Futures (FFF) wants to transform the climate justice movement to be more inclusive, accessible and representative, focusing on youth, local communities, people with disabilities, and ecofeminist groups. Funding Fairer Futures has built a coalition with Climate Action Network, WECF,
Christian Blind Mission Ireland and ECOLISE to empower more organisations to build community
power, organise, and hold power holders to account through providing financial support and training.
Generation Climate Europe was created by a group of young people in 2019 to amplify the voices of young people on climate toward the EU institutions. FFF knows how tough it is to access funding to bring your ideas to life.
If you’ve got an idea that you want to get off the ground or if you think a small grant will help you have a big impact in the climate justice movement then FFF want to hear from you. FFF can offer you up to €1,000, plus lots of training and support from the Funding Fairer Futures community. And you don’t have to be a registered organisation– if you’re a small informal group or a group of friends taking action in your community then this call is for you.
Opportunities
As part of the Youth Climate Changemakers Fund, informal groups can apply for grants up to €1,000 to carry out projects that will contribute to strengthening the climate movement.

Key Focus
- Small grants/microgrants of up to €1,000
- Open to groups of at least three young people (under 30)
- No requirement to be a registered organisation
- Activities must last between 6 and 12 months
- Eligible activities include awareness-raising, public engagement, mobilisation, advocacy, capacity building, and training.
- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with the next deadline being 1 April 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this grant, there are some conditions you must meet. To benefit from this grant you must meet the below criteria:
- You can apply as a natural person (a person nominated by a group of other people ) or a legal person (such as an organisation)
- If you are applying as a natural person must be representing a group of at least three people who will deliver the project with you
- You must be a citizen of one of the EU member states
- Your project must last at least 6 months
- Your organisation must be youth led (meaning day to day management of your organisation must be carried out by those under 30 or the governing body is made up of a majority of people under the age of 30).6.
- You can’t already have received, nor expect to receive, support from another fund financed by the EU’s DEAR programme (That’s any programme funded by EuropeAid/173998/DH/ACT/Multi)
- You can’t be a part of delivering any other project funded by the EU’s DEAR programme
- You must be able to demonstrate to you can manage money well and be able to provide FFF with the information they need
- Your project must align with the objectives of the call
How to Apply
You have until the deadline to submit:
– a completed Application Form,
– the Group Representation Form,
– the Declaration of Honor,
– the Declaration on Exclusion Criteria and
– the Consultation Survey.
