Overview
GIZ Kenya is excited to support a Women in Solar Energy Technical Training Opportunity at The Rift Valley National Polytechnic, implemented in partnership with the WTS Foundation and partially funded by the German and Norwegian governments. This women-only 3-week intensive training (15 June – 3 July 2026) will equip participants with industry-relevant solar technical skills, industry exposure through internships, and linkages to employment opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
Women continue to be underrepresented in technical roles within the renewable energy sector, despite growing demand for skilled professionals. Through this initiative, GIZ Kenya aims to strengthen women’s participation in green jobs and create pathways into sustainable employment opportunities in the solar energy sector.
If you are a woman aged 18–35 with a background in electrical, mechanical engineering, or renewable energy, GIZ Kenya encourages you to apply.

Eligibility Criteria
- Aged 18–35 years
- Kenyan citizen with a valid national ID
Additional advantage:
- Work experience at a solar site, attested by a T2 or T3 Referee
- Must have at least a Level 4 certification / GTT3 in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Renewable Energy Degree or equivalent
