Australia Global Talent Visa Program
The Global Talent visa is a permanent visa for exceptionally talented and prominent individuals who can raise Australia’s standing in their field.
Global competition for talent is intensifying. That is why Australia is working to attract the best and brightest to our shores to help grow a stronger economy.
The Global Talent Visa program offers a migration pathway for individuals with outstanding achievements, particularly high-earning individuals in future-focused sectors. This creates opportunities for Australians by:
- transferring skills
- promoting innovation
- creating jobs.
Australia is also a lifestyle destination. It is one of the most prosperous, safe and culturally diverse countries in the world. Australia offers opportunities for innovation. We have strong trading links and a business-friendly regulatory approach.
Refer to The Global Talent Visa Program Migration Program planning levels for places available under the program.
EOI requirements
Under the Australia Global Talent Visa program, individuals who are:
- highly skilled in one of the Minister’s defined sectors (or in a related sector); and
- currently earning, or likely to earn at or above the Fair Work high income threshold
should submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to have their visa applications processed ahead of others.
Successful EOI candidates will receive a unique reference identifier and a code.
It is expected that candidates have considered their eligibility against the subclass 858 visa requirements before lodging an EOI. A successful EOI is not an indication that subclass 858 visa requirements has been met.
EOIs are usually assessed in order of receipt.
Departmental officers (formerly known as Global Talent Officers) no longer provide individual support to candidates.
