The EU Partnership Assistant Role

The EU and the UN agencies are part of Oxfam’s most important institutional donors. The partnership
with these agencies is organized in 3 parts or “accounts”:
Partnerships with EU Directorates: INTPA/NEAR/FPI1 Partnership with EU Directorate ECHO2 Partnerships with the humanitarian focused UN agencies covering WFP, UNCHR, OCHA and UNICEF3)

These three accounts are led by two Partnership Managers based in the Oxfam EU advocacy office in Brussels.

The EU Partnership Assistant will support both Partnership Managers (and broader funding team) in their overall objective to maximize financial support from the EC and the UN for Oxfam’s programs;
influence their policies and practices to ensure stronger alignment with Oxfam’s work and priorities and improve the overall quality and efficiency of our partnership
They will support both EU and ECHO/UN Partnership Managers in: Monitoring EC and UN donor information and funding opportunities and ensuring communication with others in the team,  Attending relevant meetings and events at the EC and UN, collecting views from various stakeholders, and drafting briefing notes on strategic issues, Support the Partnership Managers through:  internal coordination, planning and monitoring, data management and logistics. Who we’re looking for
An EU Partnership Assistant who has a keen interest in international cooperation, development and humanitarian aid, and institutional fundraising; an affinity with the aims and objectives of Oxfam, supporting our vision of a just world without poverty.  They should have an academic degree in a relevant field such as Political Science, International Relations, Humanitarian Aid, International Development, European Affairs. Good English writing and speaking skills are essential. The Partnership Management Assistant will have strong analytical skills and ability to work independently.
