Around one in three women worldwide experiences physical or sexual violence in their lifetimes.
This stark statistic is powerful. It demonstrates the scale of the problem and the urgency of eliminating violence against women (VAW). But powerful data like this doesn’t come into being by itself; it’s the result of careful data collection and analysis around the world.
In this free course, co-created with UN Women and the World Health Organization (WHO), you’ll learn why data is key to tracking, responding to, preventing and ultimately eliminating violence against women. You’ll explore the main data types and collection methods, and consider ethics, safety and innovations in data collection.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
