The Charles R. Wall Young African Policy Fellows Program aims to train young professionals like yourself to be policy negotiators on International Environmental Governance, especially on the Convention on Biological Diversity. The 9 months program is offered by the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Being part of this program means you join a pool of young African professionals who are eager and skilled to contribute to policy formulation and review processes at country, regional and international levels. We are looking forward to learning about you, your passion for international environmental governance and your leadership footprints. 

Eligibility of Charles R. Wall Young African Policy Fellows Program

In a nutshell, you are the right fit for this program if you meet the below requirements. (Check out the program brochure for more details about the program)

1. Applicants must demonstrate a clear interest and passion for a career in policy issues on international environmental governance like biodiversity and related matters.
2. Nationals of any of the African countries and currently living and working within Africa. 
3. Age: 20-35 years.
4. Studying or has work experience in environmental sciences, social sciences, agricultural sciences, indigenous knowledge systems, resource mobilization, international relations, gender studies, bio-technology or any other sector that is relevant in the various Multilateral Environmental Agreements. 
5. If you are francophone, must have basic English writing and speaking skills. Only applications submitted in English will be considered.
