3rd United Nations Conference Youth Entrepreneurs Application for the Private Sector Forum at LLDC3

Welcome young entrepreneurs! 

Do you lead an innovative business in a landlocked developing country (LLDC*)? Do you have fresh views on how the private sector, government and the UN can work to seize opportunities for development? Do you want to share those views at a global UN conference?

Here is a 4-minute questionnaire that will register you as a candidate to be a sponsored* speaker on behalf of the UN-OHRLLS for the Private Sector Forum of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), to be convened in Kigali, Rwanda, on the 18th and 19th of June 2024. This Third United Nations Conference is a once-in-a-decade event that will determine the next 10-year UN programme of action for LLDCs aimed at unlocking their full potential!

The Private Sector Forum of LLDC3 will bring together businesses, investors, entrepreneurs, governments and UN agencies from across 32 landlocked developing countries, to articulate the views, ideas, perspectives and commitments of the private sector.

For the Private Sector Forum, one speaker among young entrepreneurs for each of the following thematic sessions are sought: Trade & Transit, Digital Development, Growth Opportunities, and Financing & Investment. This is a very special opportunity to share your knowledge, expertise and ambitions on a panel among global high-level speakers. 

Requirements:

  1. Be an ambitious young mind looking to make a difference in your professional venture
  2. Be between 18 to 35 years old 
  3. Come from one of the 32 landlocked developing countries that can be found here: https://www.un.org/ohrlls/content/list-lldcs
  4. Work in one of the landlocked developing countries

Application deadline is 22 March and we will get back to you by 29 March with the next steps to be followed. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of information submitted below.

*sponsored: flights and daily subsistence allowance for young entrepreneurs coming to Rwanda from foreign countries for the duration of the Private Sector Forum will be provided according to standard UN rules. The UN is not responsible for the visas or travel documents of selected candidates.
