About the Climate Corps Fellowship
Climate Corps is a full-time fellowship program, ranging 10-12 months. As a Fellow, you will:
Receive extensive training & support, including a 4-day orientation, monthly trainings, a 2-day retreat, and a personal development plan | Implement climate change resiliency projects, develop sustainability skills, and build partnerships in your community | Benefit from the robust, ever-growing Climate Corps network of partner organizations and alumni |
Climate Corps Fellowship Training Program
Early-Career Competencies SEI’s Climate Corps fellowship program hosts a rigorous training program for all Fellows aligned with early-career competencies for sustainability professionals, including equity, resilience, innovation, stewardship and collaboration. |
Hands-On Workshops The monthly training series and week-long program orientation provide participants knowledge and skills through hands-on workshops facilitated by leaders in the field. |
Professional Skills Upon program completion, Fellows are equipped with career-launching skills such as energy and greenhouse gas technical tools, project management, grant writing, data analysis, community outreach, and networking. |
Climate Corps Fellowship Qualifications
We are looking for emerging professionals who have a baseline of education and experience to build on in this fellowship. Desired qualifications include:
- A college degree (required / strongly preferred)
- A degree in environmental policy, science, or planning with an emphasis on energy or climate (preferred, but other relevant environmental work experience is considered – internships, volunteer experience etc.)
- A solid foundation of math and science coursework
- Classroom experience in energy and environmental policy
- Community outreach and communications experience
- Experience in addressing and the drive to address racism and create race equity with team members and programmatically
- Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent U.S. resident with the ability to work in the U.S.
- Willingness to live in the state where the position is located, relocating prior to the start of the fellowship if necessary
Climate Corps Fellowship Benefits
In exchange for their service, each Fellow receives:
- A monthly stipend starting at $2,800
- $1,000 end-of-program financial award
- Option to enroll in a national Member Assistance Program, which includes financial and legal assistance, medical advocacy, and counseling services
- Option to enroll in employer health care coverage
- Extensive professional and personal development training including:
- Career-readiness training in interview preparation, salary negotiation, and developing a professional resume and cover letter
- Attending panels, workshops, and presentations by climate resilience industry professionals
- Professional networking opportunities
- University of California Climate Stewards Certification
- Prestigious certification through the University of California School of Agriculture and Natural Resources
- This acclaimed UC California Naturalist Program prepares UC Climate Stewards to engage in and lead local solutions to advance community and ecosystem resilience

Climate Corps Education Outside is an AmeriCorps fellowship program that serves public elementary schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. CCEO Fellows teach garden-based science and environmental literacy lessons to inspire the next generation of earth stewards. |
