About the on-campus and online graduate scholarships Program
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program provides full scholarships in partnership with the American University of Beirut (AUB).
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aims to prepare young people to be agents of change in their communities, countries, and regions. Scholars attend a series of workshops, courses, and fieldwork in addition to the courses for their degrees.

Announcements
- Applications for Full Scholarships for on-campus master’s (thesis and non-thesis tracks) and PhD degrees for Fall 2024-25 are now open. The deadline for application is on March 14, 2024.
Eligibility and Admission Criteria
On-campus masters’ scholarships are open to:
- Citizens of countries on the African Continent
- Citizens of Lebanon
- Refugees living in Lebanon or on the African Continent
PhD scholarships are open to:
- Citizens of countries on the African Continent
- Refugees living on the African Continent
ELIGIBILITY AND SELECTION CRITERIA FOR SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS
- Good academic standing in the previous degree
- Talent that exceeds financial resources
- Commitment to giving back to the community, country, and region
- Leadership skills
- Commitment to attend all the additional learning experiences and workshops required by the Scholars Program
- 35 years or younger
- Demonstration of Readiness for University Studies in English (RUSE) by April 21, 2024.
Tests that you can submit: AUB-EN test, TOEFL IBT, IELTS (Academic), GRE (Verbal), GMAT (Verbal), or DUOLINGO English Test (DET).
Online graduate scholarships Announcements
Applications for Full Scholarships for online master’s degrees for Fall 2024-25 are now open.
Applicants must be citizens of countries on the African continent.
The deadline for applications is March 14, 2024.
The scholarship program is open to the following three online graduate programs:
- Master’s in Engineering Management (Online)
- Master’s in Computing in Education (Online)
- Master’s in Business Administration (Online)
Each online master’s program might have additional admissions requirements. Kindly check the webpages of each program for additional details.

Announcements
- Undergraduate scholarships are restricted to students from African countries. Selection takes place through AUB partners on the African continent.
How to apply
Interested applicants should:
Step 1: Complete the AUB online graduate application and upload supporting documents by March 14, 2024.
Step 2: Select Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program under the scholarship section of the online graduate application and tick the corresponding APPLY checkbox. Then, click “Save” to submit your changes.
Step 3: Complete the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Survey by March 14, 2024.
Step 4: Fill out the AUB Financial Aid application (deadline to be communicated to applicants who will receive access to the financial aid application 1-2 weeks after completing Step 2). The deadline for FAID is not March 14.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For an application to be considered complete, applicants must have completed (1) the AUB online graduate application, (2) the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program survey, and (3) the AUB Financial Aid Application.
