Application Form: Charles R. Wall Conservation Leadership and Management Fellowship 2024 Cohort

Charles R. Wall Conservation Leadership and Management Fellowship is a 9 months intensive and pioneering Pan African leadership program for young African professionals in the conservation sector led by African Wildlife Foundation. It brings together young African professionals from business, NGOs, public sector, and community based entities that are passionate about project implementation and are leading impact in the environment space, to impart them with transformational leadership and management skills so that they can lead systemic impact.

The fellowship will prepare you with tools, resources and knowledge to lead systemic change in conservation. It will ignite your fire and prepare you to tap into your leadership and talents as you explore who you are, your values and your purpose to create change and impact. Additionally, you will explore the state of conservation across regions and contemporary issues affecting conservation especially in Africa. You will be part of a community of 15 young professionals with diverse expertise on environmental matters.

In a nutshell, you are the right fit for this program if you meet the below requirements. (Check out the program brochure for more details about the program)

  1. The program seeks practitioners(employed, founders, volunteers, freelancers) in the conservation space including but not limited to areas such as research, communication, science, HR, Finance, administration, law, community engagement, fundraising, etc. One does not have to be a conservation scientist but must demonstrate a clear interest and passion for a career in conservation regardless of background of practice. 
  2. Nationals of any of the African countries and currently living and working within Africa.
  3. Age: 20-35 years.
  4. Minimum of a diploma in any field.
  5. If you are francophone, must have basic English writing and speaking skills.
