The Intern will be required to prepare an end-of-internship report, which will be submitted to and cleared by UNIDO Internship Coordination.

UNIDO Internship Requirements

Age: Minimum 20 years on the first day of the UNIDO internship.

Education: Enrolled in a university degree programme; or begin the internship within one year of completing a university degree; or completed a university degree and be sponsored as part of an academic or development programme.

Field of specialization: Finance, Procurement, Organizational Development, Public Administration, or related field.

Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language (French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and Russian) is an asset.

Other skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) is required.
  • Knowledge of supporting events and communications-related activities, administrative support or project delivery is desirable.

UNIDO Internship Learning Elements

Become acquainted with the most up-to-date technical, economic and industrial developments in the relevant field of specialization of the thematic areas covered by the Accelerate-to-Demonstrate (A2D) Facility (critical minerals, clean hydrogen and cross-cutting (industrial decarbonization, clean transport, smart energy, energy storage, sustainable cooling and energy efficiency)), as well as UNIDO’s approach to financing and procurement. Furthermore, the intern is expected to deepen their knowledge in the fields of new product/services and process design.

Gain experience in the development and design of new programmes and projects, particularly in relation to financing, budget management, procurement and programme administration.

On the job training: participation in every phase of the working process.

Gain experience in working effectively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment.
