Remote Job Opportunity-International Fundraising Director at Greenpeace International: APPLY NOW!

Remote Job Opportunity: International Fundraising Director Job description

Greenpeace International (GPI) is looking for a highly accomplished International Fundraising Director to strengthen our focus on effective management of potential global fundraising sources, providing strategic leadership and support for fundraising specialists and the network as a whole.

As a member of GPI’s Strategy & Management Team (SMT), the International Fundraising Director will drive the development and implementation of an impactful Global Fundraising strategy supporting the objectives of Greenpeace’s long-term Framework. Overseeing the work of the new International Fundraising Department, you will be ensuring that all resources (financial resources, expertise, people) contribute in the most effective way.

You will also oversee the fruitful collaboration and strategic alignment with all National and Regional Organisations (NROs) in the global network – including the provision of effective guidance for income and impact critical regions – as well as the strategic alignment with other GPI departments, particularly Technology, Development and Programme.

In this Remote Job Opportunity role you will:

  • Drive the further development and implementation of an impactful Global Fundraising strategy, embedding Greenpeace’s people-powered approach.
  • Drive the successful alignment of global Fundraising and Programme strategies, to ensure that programme plans are data-informed and contribute to successful fundraising.
  • Work closely with the Technology department, to ensure effective use of data, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes.
  • Collaborate with all teams and leaders in the department, NRO leaders and other functions in the organisation (e.g. Technology, Development, Programme, Finance).
  • Identify and lead strategic discussions and decisions with the Global Growth Committee and NRO Fundraising Directors community to achieve a high level of shared analysis, strategic alignment and orientation, and to nurture relationships.
  • Prioritise the support requirements of NROs on the basis of whether they are income or impact critical to the global organisation, relative market opportunities and the geo-prioritisations of other departments.
  • Regularly assess the impact of our Global Fundraising initiatives and priorities.
  • Provide strategic support to the International Executive Director (IED) in internal fora such as the Global Leadership Team, GPI Board or Executive Directors community, especially with guidance and advice around NRO Three Year Strategic Plans.
  • Support the IED and other members of the SMT in building a highly capable management environment and an enabling and positive culture that ensures continuity and quality of performance.
  • Lead the department and line manage the Strategic Fundraising Managers and High Value Manager, to ensure the focus of resources and support to the delivery of successful fundraising strategies and programmes that collectively achieve Global Fundraising strategy goals.
  • Oversee and support the teams’ work with income and impact critical NROs and provide guidance to ensure the implementation of strategic NRO support plans, in alignment with other GPI stakeholders.
  • Create an integrated team culture that focuses on impact and flexibility while maintaining a permanent attention to diversity, respectful people management and staff development – and demonstrate a high standard of pastoral management for all line reports, including mentorship, guidance and support.
  • Help to ensure the effective performance of the SMT in managing, leading, enabling, coaching and inspiring teams across GPI to deliver on what the global network needs.
  • Develop a collaborative, integrated working relationship with GPI’s International Programme Director, Chief Technology Officer and International Development Director (IDD).
  • Collaborate with the IDD and International Finance Director in support of NRO planning for fundraising, to ensure stability and sustainable growth of the network, and to prevent or mitigate global financial crises.
  • Represent Greenpeace as a senior leader in internal and external stakeholder environments.
  • Chair the Fundraising Investment Fund committee, advising on funding proposals based on potential for growth in critical income markets, ensuring NROs are supported with the application process, and coordinating funding decisions with other global funding mechanisms to ensure a coherent approach.
  • Allocate the relevant budgets, including Fundraising Investment Funds (FIF), to NROs, teams and activities, and ensure effective financial management and transparent and timely reporting.
