Medical assistant trainees Field of activity
The vocational training of young, committed people is very important to GIZ – we want to promote young talent, support their personal and professional development and make them part of our team.
The medical service in GIZ’s health services ensures occupational health care, health prevention and health promotion for all employees at home and abroad. Health issues are addressed as part of the deployment of foreign employees and development workers and their families.
Medical assistant trainees Tasks
Join an international company. You will get to know the various tasks of the medical service and, over the course of your training, you will take on different tasks of a medical assistant (m/f/d) yourself or under instructions. The training begins in August 2024 and lasts 3 years. Depending on the requirements and school performance during training, it can be shortened to 2.5 years.
The vocational school lessons take place two days a week at the Konrad Adenauer School in Kriftel.
As part of GIZ in-company training, Medical assistant trainees are taught, among other things, to carry out blood samples, urine tests and vaccinations. Medical assistant trainees will learn to carry out ECGs, lung functions and vision tests as part of occupational medical examinations. You assist with the stress ECG, are involved in making appointments and learn the administrative activities of a medical
assistant (m/f/d).
Medical assistant trainees will learn about statutory health insurance billing and billing in a statutory health insurance cooperation practice. We will prepare you so that you can take on all tasks independently.
Medical assistant trainees profile
- Secondary school diploma or technical college entrance qualification
- Fluent written and spoken German skills (at least B2 level)
- good English knowledge
- good understanding of numbers
- good grades in mathematics, German and biology
- Interest in medical issues
- Enjoy organization and office work
