  • As delegated by the IPD, identify and lead strategic discussions and decisions with the Programme leaders from the NROs to achieve a high level of shared analysis, strategic alignment and orientation, and to nurture relationships.
  • Provide strategic support to the IPD and International Executive Director (IED) in internal fora such as the Global Leadership Team or Executive Directors community, especially around NRO Three Year Strategic Plans.
  • Support the IPD, IED and other members of the SMT in building a highly capable management environment and an enabling and positive culture that ensures continuity and quality of performance.
  • As discussed with and delegated by the IPD, lead and line manage heads of teams to ensure effective decisions, resources and support go to the delivery of NRO-led campaigns and projects that collectively achieve Programme goals. (Shared managed responsibilities will be regularly re-evaluated.)
  • Deputise for the IPD in their absence.
  • Help to create an integrated team culture that focuses on impact and flexibility while maintaining a permanent attention to diversity, respectful people management and staff development.
  • Help to ensure the effective performance of the SMT in managing, leading, enabling, coaching and inspiring teams across GPI to deliver on what the global network needs.
  • Develop a collaborative working relationship with GPI’s International Fundraising Director, Chief Technology Officer and International Development Director to ensure a holistic, well-integrated approach.
  • Represent Greenpeace as a senior leader in internal and external stakeholder environments.
  • Together with the IPD, ensure the strategic and prudent management of GPI financial resources.
  • Allocate the relevant budgets to teams and activities, consistent with agreed priorities, and ensure effective management and transparent and timely reporting.
