Overview
Africa Adaptation Initiative (AAI) is thrilled to announce the recruitment of climate finance specialists as part of its flagship programme, APIA. Selected candidates will benefit from a six-month training programme and will form the African Climate Finance Experts Group, leveraging specialized technical expertise for the design, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) of adaptation projects.
Overview
The Africa Adaptation Initiative (AAI) has received financial support from the European Union for the implementation of the Adaptation Projects Incubator for Africa (APIA) Programme over three years (2024-2026). Among its key activities, the APIA Programme is establishing a pool of 125 high-level African climate finance experts to provide technical assistance to Direct Access Entities (DAEs), governments, financial institutions, and other stakeholders in navigating the complex financing mechanisms of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the Adaptation Fund (AF).
In this regard, AAI is launching a call for applications to recruit and train an initial cohort of 40 African experts (residing on and/or outside the continent). The selected candidate will undergo an intensive certified training program aimed at equipping them with the necessary technical expertise to support DAEs and other climate finance actors in Africa.
Eligibility
- AAI invites qualified candidates with 8 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years in climate finance, to submit their applications no later than March 11, 2025, at 23:59 GMT.
- African experts from diverse backgrounds and geographical locations are encouraged to apply, and female candidates are strongly encouraged to participate in this initiative.
