Overview
The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) has officially opened a Call for Proposals for sub-delegates under its Creating Opportunities for Youth and Women in Africa (COYWA) initiative. This strategic funding program aims to support inclusive development across the continent by empowering young people and women through entrepreneurship, capacity building, and socio-economic inclusion.

Who Should Apply
This call is ideal for organizations that:
- Are legally registered in an African Union Member State.
- Have at least two years of operational experience, particularly in youth or gender-focused development.
- Demonstrate strong institutional capacity for financial management, reporting, and project implementation.
- Work in one or more of the eligible RECs (EAC, COMESA, SADC, ECOWAS, ECCAS) and are ready to implement regional or national programs.
- Operate in sectors aligned with empowerment of women and youth: entrepreneurship, vocational training, digital inclusion, social services, gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, and leadership development.
What the Sub-Delegates Will Do
Selected sub-delegate partners will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and managing regional or country-level projects under COYWA.
- Building partnerships across government, civil society, and private sector stakeholders.
- Promoting youth and women entrepreneurship, leadership, and economic inclusion.
- Implementing digital inclusion initiatives—enhancing access to technology for under-served youth and women.
- Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and learning systems to measure impact and report back to AUDA-NEPAD.
- Ensuring sustainability and local ownership of interventions beyond the grant period.
