Call for Applications: Join the 2025 Africa Summer School of the Econometric Society (financial support available)
Overview
The 2025 Africa Summer School (AFSS 2025), organized by Econometric Society in collaboration with ENSEA, will take place from May 23-28, 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire (Hybrid). The Africa Summer School aims to enhance the capacity of African-based researchers and students by connecting them with leading international academics in economics and econometrics. It will bring together students, young professors and research professionals from African and foreign institutions
This year’s program will feature three exciting topics:
- The Role of Technology for Structural Transformation of Sub-Saharan Africa – Tavneet Suri (MIT)
- New Developments in Migration, Specialization, and Trade – Heitor S. Pellegrina (Notre Dame)
- New Developments on Difference-in-Differences Methods – Clément de Chaisemartin (Sciences Po)
Important dates for applications:
- Call for Applications opens: 27 January 2025
- Applications dealine: Deadline extended from 10 March 17 March
- Admission decision: 24 March
- Registration deadline: 14 April
Financial support
Financial support will be available for young African researchers and students who submit a competitive application.
